Summer Sermon Series

What Difference does the Holy Spirit Make

In the Life of a Believer

In the Life of the Church

Dear Church,

Mission! We talk a lot about mission today. Mission statements, mission goals, etc. As we begin to draw our series on the Holy Spirit to a close, we will turn this week to a traditional Advent text from the book of Isaiah. The promised Messiah of Israel would be one that the Spirit of the Lord would rest on and through whom mission of God would be made manifest among the people of God. We see in Jesus all the work of the Holy Spirit being fulfilled. What is more, we have been given this same Spirit so that we might continue this great work! What a privilege and delight it is to have the Spirit indwelling us as believers in order to continue Christ's work to accomplish God's mission in the world! I look forward to being with you in worship on Sunday.

Peace,

Pastor Jeff

Capital Campaign Update

Praise God for the response we have received to our short-term capital campaign to raise money to restore our organ and enhance our sanctuary sound system.  In the three weeks since we announced this campaign we have received donations and pledges of over $92,000.  This is roughly 96% of the total goal with the goal for the organ restoration component now fully reached.

Front Door Ministry

If you are interested in helping out at church, below are our essential hospitality roles:

Usher, Coffee Host, Door Greeter, and Connector.

The connector role is important this Fall as new families visit, college students return, and we just generally see larger attendance. With the door greeter and usher stationed at particular spots, the connector has the flexibility to walk a new family to the nursery, assist with name tags, or answer questions about the church.
