  • Jeff Root, Lead Pastor

Jeff is twice a graduate of Wheaton College, with a B.A. in Business/Economics and a M.A. in Biblical Studies. While he spent his first years after college in the world of finance, it was clear that his true passion and calling in life is for students. Jeff is outgoing and inspiring; his authentic love for Christ shines through in everything he does. He and his wife, Jori, both grew up in Wheaton where they now live with their beautiful daughters, Everly and Kysa.

  • Anne Jorgensen, Associate Pastor

Anne grew up attending First Covenant Church in Marinette, WI, where she put her faith in Christ as a young child. Always involved in church programs, performing plays and singing in the choir, Anne felt called to love people, to serve and to lead at a young age. She put that call to use in the non-profit sector where she worked until 2010, when she enrolled at North Park University for a Master's in Nonprofit Administration. While at North Park, Anne sensed God calling her into church ministry, a call affirmed by her peers and professors, and she left North Park with both the Master of Divinity and the nonprofit degree. In 2015, Anne joined our church staff as Associate Pastor.  She has an adventurous spirit and loves to go off exploring new places, new things, good food, or playing with her much beloved nephews and niece.

  • Leslie Hodgkinson, Director of Worship Arts

Leslie has been involved in worship arts for over 20 years within the Chicagoland area. Her greatest joy is encouraging people of every age to share their artistic, dramatic, and musical gifts and talents with the church in the context of worship. Leslie is not only a talented and seasoned musician, she is especially gifted in tying together all of the various elements of worship into a cohesive experience, one that has a clear direction without being rigid. She and her husband Don live in Chicago's North Park neighborhood and she is spotted donning her favorite red cowboy boots.

  • Eliza Stiles, Director of Student Ministries

Eliza is a graduate of Gordon College (Wenham, MA) with a B.A. in Christian Ministries, concentrating in youth ministry and theology. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in systematic theology at Wheaton College. Eliza is passionate about helping middle and high school students engage deeply with their faith and feel at home in their church community. She loves camping, hiking, and running, especially when she is home in the mountains of New Hampshire. When she’s not at church or taking students out for ice cream, she’s probably eating more ice cream with friends or at Blackberry Market drinking coffee and writing a paper.

  • Pam Powell, Director of Children's Ministries

Pam Powell joined our staff as Director of Children’s Ministries in January 2015, having first served as a member of the children’s ministries vision team, a Sunday school teacher, VBS co-director, and a Hi League leader since coming to our church in 2012. She is especially thrilled to get to be included in a child’s spiritual growth journey because “even though you can live to be 99 before you accept Jesus and still get all the heavenly rewards, how much sweeter is life lived knowing Jesus all those years.” Pam’s joy is clearly Jesus-given and she loves bringing fun and Bible-learning together for our kids on Sundays or Wednesdays and any occasion that allows her to play with shaving cream and water balloons or wear one of her crazy hats. Pam has been married to Tom Powell since 1989. They have three young adult children, two dogs, a cat and a mostly empty fish tank. They have made their home in Wheaton since October 2011, having previously lived most of their adult lives in Michigan.

  • Holly Pelsor, Director of The Ark Preschool

Holly is a graduate of Benedictine University and has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 10 years. Holly came to us highly recommended with her experience as an Assistant Director and many years of teaching. Her nurturing nature, calm guidance and love for the Lord shines through and spreads to all she encounters. Holly works hard to find connections between the church and the preschool, between the two staffs, and with families from the church and school. We benefit greatly from her expertise in this important role and are blessed to have her represent our church in this position of community outreach.  She and her husband, Scott, have two young children and have lived in the west suburbs their whole lives.

  • Karen Schultz, Financial & Facilities Manager

Karen joined our staff in May of 2011, bringing with her extensive experience in administrative and financial management with other non-profits in the Wheaton area. She is exceedingly patient with those staff members who are not "numbers people" and such a delight to be around. She and her husband, John, have three children and have lived in the west suburbs their whole life.
