SUNDAY MORNING SCHEDULE
Nursery Opens - 9:20am (infants and toddlers)
Worship - 9:30am
Coffee & Conversation - 10:45am
Classes for all ages - 11:00am (September-May)
Nursery – We provide a safe and loving environment for infants and
toddlers year round during our worship services, and from
September-May during our Sunday school hour. Our volunteer
caregivers will engage your young child with happy conversation,
music and play.
Preschool – Older twos through pre-kindergarten students begin worship
with their families on Sunday mornings. During the service, they are
invited to go with teachers to attend “preschool worship,” which
usually includes large motor play time in the gym or on our fenced-
in playground, a Bible story, light snack, singing, and a craft or
other activities. The preschoolers transition directly to our Sunday
school program from September to May. This year we are using
Gospel Light’s “My Great Big God” curriculum and our teachers
provide biblical teaching and age-appropriate play activities each
Children’s Worship – Elementary children are invited to a special time
of worship and reflection most Sundays from September to May.
(We do not have separate Children’s Worship on 1st Sunday
Communion Services or 5th Sunday Intergenerational Worship.)
Guided by Kathleen Chapman’s Teaching Children Authentic
Worship, our Children’s Worship team, helps our children develop
and understand good spiritual practices that can help them
recognize and discern God’s voice.
K-5 Sunday School – We meet from September to May and we are
currently “Digging in to the Life of Jesus” with Group’s curriculum.
Weekly sessions include both large group and small times to
facilitate relationship-building and fellowship between children and
leaders as well and deeper Bible study as well as corporate worship
time featuring music and Bible teaching.
Jr-High Sunday School Class (grades 6-8) – meet in the Hi-League
Room to start with the high school students.
Hi-School Sunday School – meet in the Hi-League Room.
Coffee is available after worship. The first 15 minutes of Sunday School
is for you to grab coffee and catch up with others.
We have two different options most Sundays for our congregation to choose from.
The first option that will be available all Sunday School mornings will be a sermon/worship debrief and discussion time we are calling “Continuing the Conversation.” Our time in worship and listening to the sermon is just the beginning of the conversation Sunday mornings. We look forward to talking together and asking questions like, “What did we hear that spoke to God’s character?” “What challenged us?” “What are we being called into prayer with each other about?”
The second option will be 4-5 week classes that will be scheduled throughout the Sunday school calendar year. The focus of these classes will be topics that come from our vision and mission of this church (discipleship, belonging, and being good neighbors), the suggestions of attenders, topics that are important and timely to our faith in the world we live in, and sometimes topics that are just unique or help us experience God from another angle.
